Biography

Halina was born in the inauspicious year of 1546, on the Fourth Sun of the Fifth Astral Moon, joining the other, draconic Raen children in the river that ran alongside their village. Unlike the others, Halina spent over a year and a half in the water, later resulting in her parents often referring to her as "lazy".By the age of eight, her healing proficiency presented her "parents" with an ultimatum, marry her to the village chief - a man 40 years her senior - or kill her. Her parents, burdened with the choice of killing or selling off their only child, made a choice which resulted in her being abandoned at the Church of Halone.Life at the church was hell, and Halina was at the centre of it. They trained her into a Saintess through whips and beatings, starving her and forcing her into a role that she would never have chosen otherwise. At the ripe age of 14, she fell in love with another of the girls in the church, only to be ripped away from her and forced into an arranged marriage. Her 'fiance' nearly killed her, ripping her wings from her back and leaving her permanently scarred, mentally and physically. Having faced abuse at the hands of that man, she fled with her comrades, breaking apart that sect.Following her escape, she was forced to part from her friends, and fled into Eorzea. In her 15th year, she was found in Gridania by Lewin, who turned her over to Louisoix - only once the old man promised to look after her. Louisoix took her back with him to Sharlayan, making her his disciple - and his adopted daughter. Raised as his daughter, she became part of the Circle of Knowing, nearly completing her Archon studies before the Calamity struck.She fell deeply in love with Yda during this time, making it official with her at the age of 19. She was due to propose to her, only to have her ripped away a year before the Calamity hit. She didn’t get over this loss until Stormblood, drowning her woes in women and drink until she receives closure from Fordola.Before completing her studies, in the midst of grief, Halina was summoned as a Warrior of Light, taking to the battlefield as the light party's healer during the Battle of Carteneau. Even though Nael van Darnus was defeated at Rivenroad by her and the others, Dalamud's descent continued unabated. Louisoix sent everyone present into a time rift until it passed, transforming into the primal of rebirth, Phoenix, to stop the destruction of the realms.5 years later, Halina was returned to the realm. Spending 2 months in isolation at the revelation that her father was gone, and everything she knew had changed, Halina was only pulled out of her depressive stupor by Bowlord Lewin - the same man who had saved her 20 years prior. Louisoix's spell had failed, leading to memories of the Warrior of Light before the Fall lingering, and the man who’d found her a home had come seeking her help.Lewin introduced her to Happy in Gridania, and under Lewin's guidance she met Happy again in Limsa. From there, they were never to be separated again.Halina met her beloved wife just after Shadowbringers, in the aftermath of the first. Bonnie’s brother, Avalune, had been plucked from the Source by mistake - much like many of Halina’s friends, and even her brother - Once returned, Bonnie followed her brother and his lover to Revenant’s Toll, where the two echo users (and Bonnie!) were introduced to the two Warriors of Light.From there, Bonnie began to spend time around the near full party, and Halina set her sights on the incredibly attractive woman. After a 2 year whirlwind romance, the two got married in a grand ceremony, right as the Scions disbanded - the last, offical, major event where the WoLs’ full party and the Scions were seen.Bonnie and Halina unofficially adopted Meteion, treating her with love despite all that had happened, and try to make trips to the First to see Halina’s accidental child, Miesa, though Halina’s duty as Warrior of Light makes her schedule a struggle.

Personality

Stern, level-headed and somewhat cold towards most people, Halina’s true heart is only revealed to those who are closest to her.Many people view her as the “no-nonsense” Saintess who rarely forms personal connections, keeping to herself outside of her night-time encounters. While its true that she never used to sleep with the same person twice, she now barely interacts with the outside populace at all, exchanging pleasantries and not much else.Instead, Halina likes to spend her time with her friends and family, seeking a home in the arms of her one and only - her wife, Bonnie.Her closest circle - Happy, her wife, Meteion, and others - know her to be quiet, but warm and somewhat motherly, able to engage in banter and playful games. While calm and able to make quick decisions, she is fiercely, almost recklessly, protective of her family - a trait only exploited once in her journey as a Warrior of Light.
